Flow with the breath
A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer.
Vinyasa means "arranging something in a special way", in this case, yoga poses. The difference between power (yang) and vinyasa is that vinyasa classes are normally not heated and move through the breath and poses more slowly than in a power class. The poses will be lighter and the flow, softer.
Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth. At SKY Studio we integrate meditation in most of our classes. We work on meditation in stillness to prepare you for meditation with movement.
Private Yoga & Parties, Oh my!
SKY Yoga also conducts private lessons in the work place and/or home. We come to you or you may reserve the studio for a private, in-studio yoga and meditation practice. We also host Yoga Parties for children and adults. Contact Kalli for more details.
